Shower Pan & Drain Installation + DOB Approval - NYC

Following GC demolition and shower preparation (Phase 1), a licensed NYC plumber is needed to supply and install a new vinyl shower pan liner and drain assembly, perform required flood testing, and coordinate the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) inspection. This scope is Phase 2 and cannot begin until Phase 1 (GC demolition/prep) is certified complete.

1. Pre-Mobilization

• Confirm with property manager that GC demolition and subfloor preparation are complete before scheduling mobilization.
• Coordinate site access with building management.

2. Shower Pan Installation

• Inspect the exposed shower area upon arrival to verify the floor is suitable for installation.
• Supply and install one (1) new vinyl shower pan liner.
• Supply and install a new shower drain assembly.
• Reconnect drain assembly to existing drain piping, ensuring all connections are properly secured and leak-free.

3. Testing & DOB Inspection

• Perform initial functional test of the drain connection upon installation.
• Fill the shower pan with water and conduct a 24-hour flood test to confirm watertight integrity.
• Schedule and call for the required NYC DOB inspection upon successful flood test completion.

4. Post-Inspection Finish Work

• Following DOB inspection approval, the GENERAL CONTRACTOR will complete:
• Tile installation (floor and walls)
• Shower curb reconstruction
• Closing and finishing all wall and floor openings

Deliverables

• Installed and tested vinyl shower pan liner and drain assembly.
• Documented 24-hour flood test results.
• Completed DOB inspection with approval.
